A $35M Slice of Italy in Cali!

TUSCANY IN THE USA 2781 Padaro Lane
With only six bedrooms and nine bathrooms, this freaky Tuscan farmhouse just south of Santa Barbara might seem steep at $35 million, but imagine what you'll save in airfare to Italy!
The place looks like it was assembled by hand, but it has practically every modern technology imaginable, including fiber-optic lighting, state of the art security, and irresistible iPod docks in every room (they're disguised as stone niches, of course).
The staircase—something out of an M.C. Escher drawing—is all oak and copper and drops into a grotto in the 750-bottle basement wine cellar and full-projection theater room.
The heated pool overlooking the Pacific Ocean doubles as a mosaic art piece, and its own man-made beach is fully wired for sound, telephone, and the Internet. Word around town is that it's currently owned by a hedge-fund manager, but listing agents and those connected with the sale have declined to name the owner. Presumably, the answer to the mystery is included in the asking price.
