TROPIC BLUNDER Waitress ladies The Hawaiian Tropic Zone is a chain restaurant in Times Square in which food is served by attractive women clad in skimpy bikinis. (Believe it or not, the grub is actually good!) In exchange for their service, HTZ houses the waitresses in a "greatly discounted" dormitory-style walk-up on the Upper East Side.
Not surprisingly, it's not all manicures and pillow fights there: four of the girls, including the former HTZ manager, have just filed a $600 million lawsuit accusing male staffers of sexual misconduct and harassment. Specifically, the lawsuit claims that former general manager Anthony Rakis and other male managers "routinely went to visit the young female employees who resided there," visits which culminated in Rakis having sex with two of the girls, one of whom he also knocked up. Rakis also supposedly drugged and raped another girl in the back of a cab. Even celebrity chef David Burke is cited in the suit, for allegedly groping some girls at a party in 2006.
