Don't let Ryan Seacrest's toothy grin fool you, because sources tell RadarOnline.com exclusively that the talk show host has actually been totally and completely miserable ever since moving to New York City for his show Live with Kelly & Ryan.

"Ryan is miserable," our insider dishes, adding that relocating to the Big Apple has been "the biggest mistake of his life."

The normally happy-go-lucky star can't take the hussle of the city and has said to have become a recluse as a result of it. "He hasn't embraced the city and hasn't been going out to the restaurants or parties," the snitch continues to spill to RadarOnline.com. "He's invited to almost every event every night and doesn't go!"

"He's such an LA guy and is finding NYC tough. The weather and the hussle of the city is too much," the source says of Seacrest.

And with so much distaste for the east coast town, it comes as no surprise that Ryan runs back to Los Angeles at any chance he gets. The pal close to the situation reveals, "He can't wait until the weekends to fly back to his beloved LA!" Insiders are not sure how much longer this will last. There has even been talk about moving the show to LA for a few weeks.

MORE ON:
Kelly Ripa

On top of his intense aversion toward NYC, the idea that Seacrest and Ripa are seemingly "butting heads" on set only makes matters worse. As RadarOnline.com previously reported, the blonde TV personality was displeased when she found out Ryan was the one who had been picked as her co-host. Ripa reportedly had no say in the matter and was therefore "livid." The insider tattled at the time, “Kelly wanted someone she could boss around — and that isn’t Ryan."
