Ramona Singer may be focusing on "new beginnings" this year— but her business partner and love interest's sketchy past could upset her fresh start.

RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal that Peter Guimaraes, 50, who co-owns New York City's AOA Bar & Grill with the Real Housewives of New York star, 58, filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy when his Connecticut eatery went under in August 2009.

According to court documents obtained by Radar, Guimaraes claimed his Dulce Restaurant in Hartford owed creditors approximately $400,000.

Debts included $95,000 to the landlord, $35,000 to an electric company, $8,000 to a dairy company, and $4,000 in taxes to the state of Connecticut.

According to local reports, the restaurant was also facing eviction at the time of the bankruptcy filing for failing to pay rent for nearly a year.

On September 16, the court ordered Guimaraes and his family to vacate the property within the next four days.

Dulce officially closed its doors on September 20 at noon.

On this season of her Bravo show, Singer brought Guimaraes as her date to Dorinda Medley's Berkshires retreat.

But during the weekend getaway, LuAnn de Lesseps discovered Radar's report that the restaurateur previously dated Ramona's estranged husband Mario's mistress, Kasey Dexter!
