Prince Harry came under fire this week after taking a last-minute detour to Toronto on his way home from an official Caribbean tour to visit his new girlfriend Meghan Markle .

To make matters worse, the 32-year-old even added an extra day to his trip in order to see the Suits actress, 35.

According to Britain’s Daily Express, Kensington Palace originally stated that the prince would fly directly home from Barbados, as he had a number of public engagements scheduled in the U.K. this week.

Instead, just "moments" before he boarding his flight to London, Harry reportedly made the decision to travel 1,700 miles off-route to Toronto, potentially costing British taxpayers, according to Page Six.

But when a Daily Express reporter asked Harry's aide before the flight took off: "Can I just check, is Prince Harry flying on BA to London from Barbados tonight?" The aide reportedly answered: "Yes."

Prince Harry came forward to confirm his relationship with Markle last month, taking it upon himself to defend his new girlfriend against online bullying in a passionate statement released through Kensington Palace.

News first broke of the couple's relationship when the British royal was caught jetting off to Canada for an ultra-secret visit with Markle this fall.

Too bad for Harry, this last trip wasn't so secret!
