Laverne Cox said Caitlyn Jenner has transitioned "very eloquently and beautifully and publicly" over the past few months.
The stunning Orange Is the New Black star, appearing on The Late Late Show Monday, said it was "pretty awesome" in joining the Olympian for a screening of her upcoming E! show I Am Cait on Sunday.
It was the first time the two transgender trailblazers had crossed paths in person, according to Cox, who plays Sophia Burset on the hit Netflix series.
"We'd spoken on the phone several times," said Cox, looking amazing in a red dress. "She called me the day after the ESPYs speech actually, she's such a sweet woman who loves her family and just thinking about the paparazzi life she has, I don't want that life."

Cox, 31, explained the difference between her journey, and the one the 65-year-old Malibu native has taken.
"When I think about transitioning in my twenties as a black transgender woman who was working class and struggling to make it in New York City, it's completely different from Caitlyn's very public experience -- there's no way she could have transitioned privately."
She said that both she and the Arthur Ashe Courage Award winner are playing important roles in society right now, as some of the public faces of transgender life.
"What I think is so beautiful about my visibility, and Caitlyn's visibility, is that diverse representations of trans people in the media are so important," Cox said.
I Am Cait premieres on E! Sunday, July 26 at 9/8c.
