As the world gears up to relive the "trial of the century" in FX's new miniseries, The People V. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, archive video footage was uncovered of Kris and then-husband Bruce Jenner in 1995, discussing the murder of friend Nicole Brown Simpson .

In the clip, from Good Morning America, Kris tells show anchor Bill Ritter that O.J. Simpson contacted her from jail, insisting that he didn't murder his wife.

"I've talked to him a few times, he called me from jail," she confessed. "He wanted to talk to me, I've know him for 20 years."

Kris then admitted to Ritter that O.J., unprompted, told her in 1994, "I didn't do it."

"I asked a lot of questions. It was so early on in the case and I just listened to him and I think he listened to me because I think there was a fondness we had for each other. We were friends," Kris said of her reaction to O.J.'s shocking phone call.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Kris, who recently called Nicole "an amazing friend," had a close relationship with the former athlete prior to the murder, which caused rumors to swirl of an affair, In Touch reported.

Later, Bruce (now Caitlyn) chimed in, sharing that the trial was an eye-opening experience: "Sometimes you just don't know what's going on behind closed doors."

The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story premieres on FX on Tuesday, February 2, at 10 p.m. EST.
