Fans may have been shocked when Kim Kardashian released the secret tapes of Taylor Swift signing off on Kanye West's "Famous" lyrics, but those in the reality star's inner circle knew it was coming for a very, very long time.

Kim plotted to expose the shocking video for months, RadarOnline.com can reveal.

"Kim planned this out well in advance," an insider claims, adding that the 35-year-old mother of two decided she would pull the trigger this summer back when she filmed the latest episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

"She knew the footage of her talking about Taylor to her family would air in July, so she wanted to time the big reveal with the show."

On Sunday's KUWTK, Kim told big sister Kourtney that Taylor, 26, was trying to "play the victim" for "attention" by denying she knew Kanye's diss in his song when she was actually briefed about it ahead of time.

Turns out, Taylor wasn't the only one desperate for attention. Though a source insists Kim's intentions — to protect her husband — were partially pure, she got her revenge for ratings.

"She wanted to stand by her man, and get more exposure for the show, too," the source explains. "For Kim, every move is calculated."

But she may not have anticipated a blow to her fragile marriage. As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Kim and Kanye, 39, have been butting heads over the Taylor drama, with the rapper insisting his wife stay out of his business.
