Jessica Simpson's $120 million dollar deal to sell off the majority stake in her lifestyle brand was in no part thanks to her manager/dad Papa Joe Simpson, with court documents exclusively obtained by RadarOnline.com revealing that he had no role in the negotiations for the lucrative contract.

The bombshell details about her father’s real role in her empire was revealed in an affidavit filed by Simpson’s long-term business manager who became embroiled in a lawsuit with Joe and a former business partner.

Jessica and her dad  were slapped with a $12 million dollar lawsuit by Jeffrey Bowler, who alleges that he made a deal with Joe for a 10% finder’s fee if he could find a buyer for The Jessica Simpson Collection. He claimed that he eventually found a buyer and Jessica went on to sell a majority stake in her business for $120 million dollars in April 2015.

However, Bowler maintained that he never got a dime of his finder’s fee that was promised by Joe so he filed suit demanding the $12 million dollars he claims he was promised for his work.

In response, Joe filed his own lawsuit against Bowler in New York where he stated the man “attempted to extort,” him for millions. He stated that he was worked with Bowler in 2010 but he says no deal was ever reached for the sale of Jessica's company and the two parted ways.

The documents allege that Bowler “claims to be entitled to an astonishing twelve million dollars ($12,000,000.00) in compensation.”

On October 21, 2015 documents were filed in Joe's lawsuit against Bowler which included an affidavit by Jessica's business manager, David Levin, who explains that he led negotiations on behalf of Jessica during the sale of the majority stake in her Jessica Simpson Collection - which sold for a reported $120 million dollars.

“At no point was either Defendant Bowler or Plaintiff Simpson Joe involved in the negotiations,” Levin stated.

Levin also alleges that Bowler’s “false, wrongful and intentional assertions regarding purported fraud by Plaintiff Levin in connection with the Deal directly and materially tarnish Plaintiff Levin’s professional reputation as a CPA, as an attorney, and as a business manager.”

Jessica and her father have reportedly been arguing since his alleged gay scandal broke and he divorced her mother, Tina Simpson, in 2014.
