Gregg Allman's Reckless Lifestyle Led To Rocker's Early Grave!

Exclusive new evidence reveals 69-year-old Gregg Allman died due to a series of fatal disorders, caused by his wild lifestyle!

As RadarOnline.com previously revealed, the American rocker passed on May 27 of this year following a series of medical disasters caused by years of substance abuse.

The songwriter, who was married to Goddess of Pop Cher, 71, from 1975 to 1979, also endured a liver transplant in 2010 — a dangerous procedure that ultimately added to his many ailments.

As Gregg candidly confessed in his 2012 memoir, My Cross to Bear, the rocker spent years overindulging in women, booze and drugs — and his quickie 1975 marriage to Cher blew up over his out-of-control drug use.

Though he eventually sobered up, Allman's years of unhealthy living took a toll.

In 2007, he was diagnosed with hepatitis C, which he attributed to a dirty tattoo needle. The nasty illness left him so exhausted he slept nearly 11 hours a day.

Then, in 2008, Gregg was diagnosed with liver cancer, and two years later received a liver transplant — which may have led to the development of his atrial fibrillation, a condition in which the patient possesses an irregular heartbeat.

Dr. Gabriel Mirkin, a graduate of Harvard University and a physician for more than 50 years, told RadarOnline.com: "To accept someone else's liver, you have to receive drugs that will suppress your immune system. That may have allowed the cancer cells to come back!"

During his last six months alive, Gregg knew the end was near, said his manager.

"He became resolved and peaceful. We canceled tour dates when we had to, but we ended up playing through the end of October — we'd hoped to get through the end of the year but he'd had another bout of pneumonia and other respiratory ailments."

The untimely death of the beloved Allman Brothers leader brought with it an overwhelming wave of grief for ex-wife Cher – with whom he shared son Elijah Blue, 40.

Though their marriage was rocky, a pal of the pop diva confessed, "She's forgiven him everything."
