While having gelato with a friend of hers, Spelling says she hasn’t really processed everything that’s happened in her marriage to McDermott in the last few months.
In Dec. it was revealed that McDermott, 47, cheated on Spelling, 40, with a 28-year-old woman in Toronto while he was there filming Chopped Canada.
“Because this whole affair has been made so public, I guess I assume that everyone is just like, okay, we know what’s going on,” Spelling tells her friend Andy.
“So, when I hear my friends day to day say, ‘You’re not dealing with stuff,’ it’s just shocking to hear that and it puts it all into perspective.”
“How forgiving are you in this situation?” Andy asks the former 90210 star.
“I don’t know, we’ll find out,” she concedes.
“You know that people can make mistakes. You could have made the same mistake, you made the same mistake in your same marriage!” he says, calling her out for hooking up with McDermott in 2005 when she was still married to Charlie Shanian and he was married to Mary Jo Eustace.
“Both of our marriages,” she admits. “We were both married when we met.”
“And, the day you met…” he says.
“We fell in love,” Spelling says.
“Well you know it could happen again,” Andy warns her.
Spelling and McDermott have signed on to a six-episode docu-series with Lifetime that will follow them as they navigate their crumbling marriage amid cheating and addiction.
True Tori airs Tuesdays on Lifetime at 10/9c.
