The Canyons is finally out in theaters, but another Lindsay Lohan video is making an even bigger splash on YouTube. “Lindsay Lohan’s Freckled Freedom,” by user dspielbergz, has commenters up in arms for its disturbing content, which includes images of the 9/11 bombings.

“Lindsay is finally free,” the narrator intones in a creepy, robotic voice. “It’s been three months without her. It’s felt like three decades. Hashtag Freckled Freedom. Hashtag Freckled Freedom.”

Various shots of Lindsay are interspersed with graphic photos of the exploding World Trade Center on September 11 as the narrator continues the bizarre rant.

“Lindsay is out of rehab,” the voice drones. “She has been recovering. No lights. No cameras. No Twitter. No sign that she loves me. I have been patiently waiting. Sitting in my room. Staring at my computer screen …”

Bizarre to say the least, the clip’s flippant use of images of a national tragedy have disturbed and angered many commenters.

“State sponsored terrorism and Blohan have nothing whatsoever in common,” user @vulcanhasnomoon wrote.

“This is one of the most disturbing things I have ever seen,” Joanne J. wrote. “Whoever is behind this or supports it is deeply disturbed.”

Nicholas Georgeoff wrote, “Are you kidding me? … This is vile. Over 3000 people lost their lives on 911 and what does this drugged up, 7-time rehab junkie have to do with 911. Report this video.”

User Angeleyes14514 wrote, “I consider [this video] treasonous.”

But the clip’s creator stands by her work. The author posted on his or her tumblr, “there has been a polarized reaction to my video. I’m sorry I’m not sorry. I’m standing by it. If you really want to see something “horrible” and “disturbing” look up the melting glaciers or dead polar bear … my video is next level and staying.”
