Mystery Deepens: Friends Of Teen Found Dead In Road Refusing To Talk, Cops Say

The authorities are still searching for clues in the horrific death of Nathan Haun whose body was found run over by a car in the middle of a rural Utah road and they exclusively told RadarOnline.com that they are frustrated by the people they believe know what happened to the teenager and are refusing to reveal any details.
The 17-year-old’s body was found on Saturday, July 13 at 5 am and the Utah State Coroner’s Office said his body suffered “very extreme trauma,” but the circumstances surrounding his death are still shrouded in mystery.
Sergeant Spencer Collins with the Utah State Sheriff’s office told RadarOnline.com that the teenagers who were with Nathan the night he died have been stonewalling them.
“We haven’t had cooperation from a lot of people and this is very frustrating. It’s a little bit puzzling that people who have knowledge of the situation aren’t coming forward to talk to us.”
Nathan was at a party Friday night with his friends and Sgt. Collins said they believe there was underage drinking at the party.
“We don’t take underage drinking lightly, but in this situation this is not what we are focusing on. Nathan’s death and the details leading up to it are the answers we are looking for. Teenagers and their parents have refused to talk to us and we believe somebody knows something and they’re not coming forward.”
Nathan’s father Preston Haun previously told RadarOnline.com that he had heard his son was talking to a girl at the party and that may have caused a fight with some people.
Sgt. Collins said that he had been told the same thing but that they need more information from the people at the party.
“I think the moral and legal thing to do is come forward,” Sgt. Collins said.
“If someone says to us and says ‘I screwed up, I was drinking, there was an accident ‘or if they come forward and say ‘I was driving on the road, it was dark, I hit something and Nathan was wearing all dark clothes and I didn’t see him.’ Anything that they can tell us is better than silence.”
Sgt. Collins also said the injuries Nathan suffered were so extensive there was no way anyone could have run him over and not known they did so.
“He had lots of broken bones, compound fractures and lacerations.”
He said that leaving the scene of an accident “adds to the tragedy.”
Sgt. Collins also said that they have a very god idea of the details from the night and they believe somebody is withholding information.
“It would help bring a sense of peace and understanding to Nathan’s family.”
He cautioned the community to be on the lookout for a vehicle that may have been in an accident. He said the police have spoken to local body shops but asked residents to be aware of cars they see.
“They could be covering up the front of the car, have the car parked where it isn’t normally parked and is hidden or doing their own body work.”
