The glam-factor was at its' all time high on Sunday night, as Hollywood's hottest stars hit the 83rd Academy Awards dressed in what are sure to be, the biggest trends of the coming year.

While everyone assumed that royal blue would be replacing black as the hot hue of 2011 due to the impending royal nuptials, there was no denying that red was the official color of the evening. From Sandra Bullock's va-va-voom Vera Wang strapless gown to Winter's Bone babe Jennifer Lawrence's minimalist Calvin Klein halter, we were delighted to see the ravishing color dominate over black.

Purple also had a strong presence, as Black Swan babes Natalie Portman (in Rodarte) and Mila Kunis (in Elie Saab) both opted for different shades of the color, along with Cate Blanchett, in her offbeat pastel Givenchy Couture gown.

There are always lots of desperately gorgeous diamonds on the red carpet, but this year we saw some some rather unique colored bling. Natalie Portman matched her TIffany Rubellite Tassel diamond earrings to her plum colored dress, while Reese Witherspoon fulfilled her Old Hollywood glamour role to perfection with Neil Lane emeralds.
