From Fly Girl To Fashion Icon: Jennifer Lopez's Star Style Evolution

Jennifer Lopez has come a long way since her days as a Fly Girl on the television show In Living Color. The star of The Back-Up Plan, which hits the big screen on Friday, is considered one of the glammest gals in show business, and isn’t afraid of pushing the style envelope over the edge! Over the years, the Latina lovely has been a hip-hop hottie, a sex symbol style siren and a glam goddess, wearing luxe couture from all the top designers.
Jennifer established herself as an actress on the rise, when she scored the lead in the biopic Selena. Her portrayal as the murdered Latina star won over the critics, and she immediately became a household name. As her movie roles got bigger and bigger, so did Jennifer’s aspirations. In 1999, she released her debut album, On the 6, and thanks to such hits as If You Had My Love and Love Don’t Cost a Thing, she became a pop sensation overnight. J. Lo was born.
J.Lo, who had found love with hip-hop mogul Sean Combs in the late 1990’s, after splitting with hubby Ojani Noa (a marriage, which would haunt her for years to come) flaunted her famous curves in sexy and revealing getup. Her most famous look to date? The dramatically low-cut, green Versace gown, which she wore to the 1999 Grammy Awards. The dress spawned a media sensation, and still hasn’t been forgotten over a decade later.

EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Back-Up Plan Star Gets Red Carpet Ready
After splitting with Combs, and another failed marriage to backup dancer Chris Judd, J. Lo turned into Jenny From The Block, falling in love with Hollywood heartthrob Ben Affleck. The two became Hollywood’s golden couple, and Jen transformed into a glam goddess on the red carpet, wearing elaborate gowns and fur, while showing off her enormous $1.2 million dollar pink diamond engagement ring from Ben.
After calling off the engagement, Jennifer finally ended up with the man of her dreams, Marc Anthony, whom she married in 2004. Jennifer’s style subdued when she married the singer, going for glam, but not over-the-top red carpet looks.
Jennifer, who favors the traditionally haute couture of Dolce & Gabbana and Versace, rarely fails to reign a red carpet. What was her best look? Check out the gallery in Style and you decide!
