Nick Jonas, the youngest of the three Jonas brothers, jammed in an impromptu acoustic session near the Santa Monica pier in Southern California Tuesday, along with his new guitarist, Sonny Thompson.
Jonas, 17, is currently on a tour with his own band, The Administration, and seems to have borrowed something purple for his solo endeavor: he’s hired three former members of Prince‘s old New Power Generation band. Besides guitarist Thompson, Nick’s also using Prince’s old drummer Michael Bland and his keyboardist Tommy Barbarella.
Despite Nick’s solo outing, rest assured, he says the Jonas brothers are “definitely not breaking up.”
“We’ve got a lot of exciting things coming this year, as the Jonas Brothers and individually,” Jonas told MTV. “A lot of things coming up… so that’s why we think it’s funny when people say we’re breaking up, because we’re going to be so busy.”
Jonas’ new album, Who I Am, is in stores now.
