Lacey Schwimmer, who is partnered with Iron Chef America hunk Mark Dacascos, missed Monday night’s Dancing With The Stars with a case of the flu, leaving gorgeous understudy Anna Trebunskaya to take her spot.
Unfortunately, the results were not kind, as the inexperienced couple danced their way to a lousy 19, leaving Dacascos vulnerable for Tuesday night’s results show; Schwimmer, who went home to rest, is expected back next week.
Elsewhere, the hopefuls on this season’s edition aren’t just mastering the art of the ballroom floor: this week’s edition featured costumes designed by the contestants themselves.
Backstage at Monday’s episode, RadarOnline.com‘s Tina Malave caught up with some of this season’s competitors for a word on the unique looks their partners created for them.
“Don’t mess with my dresses, or I’ll make you wear tasseled pants!” joked Kelly Osbourne to her partner, Louis Van Amstel, for whom she designed a pair of shaggy blue trousers Malave compared to the Sesame Street staple, Cookie Monster. Osbourne said she likely started a tasseled trousers trend that will endure on future episodes of the show.
Donny Osmond‘s design went over well with partner Kym Johnson, who said she loved the sparkly, pattern-heavy dress the showman came up with for her.
Said a proud Osmond about his design: “Armani — Osmond … she’s wearing a Donny Osmond!”
Dancing With The Stars airs Monday at 8/7c and Tuesday at 9/8c on ABC.
