Happy Birthday, Mr. President: Barack Obama Turns 48

Change doesn’t take a day off — even on birthdays.

President Barack Obama Tuesday will celebrate his 48th birthday surrounded by all 58 Democratic senators in a meeting slated to address crucial issues the county faces, such as the economy, health care and energy legislation.

The 44th US president will likely have a much more relaxing birthday than last year, when he was zigzagging the country on the campaign trail.

Other interesting tidbits regarding the day the first black US president was born: Bobby Lewis‘ Tossin’ and Turning’ was atop the music charts, and then-US President John F. Kennedy was in the midst of his first year in the Oval Office.
