With the recent news that this is the last year for Barbara Walters’ annual pre-Oscar special — it seems that Oprah Winfrey is poised to take those honors, tonight, Oprah presents her own Oscar Special in honor of Sunday’s big night. But unlike Barbara who does the interviewing herself—Oprah pairs Hollywood stars with Oscar nominees and has them interview each other. Highlights include Penelepe Cruz with Halle Berry, Ben Affleck with Jeremy Renner, Glen Close with Michael Douglas and James Cameron interviews his Avatar stars.

But, if you need a laugh, you must watch Modern Family. It’s hands down one of the best new comedies on the air and we guarantee you won’t be disappointed! Tonight, Phil goes on Facebook and accidentally invites an old girlfriend (played by the hilarious Judy Greer) over to the house. We can’t wait to see how he explains this one to Claire! But better yet, Jay invents an alibi after he accidentally kills Manny’s turtle… yeah, that will definitely be good!

All your ABC favorites like Modern Family and Cougartown are on hiatus tonight but for good reason! The 43rd Annual CMA Awards hosted by Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley are taking their place just for this evening. The hosts are also part of a huge slate of performers including Dave Matthews, Tim McGraw, Brooks and Dunn, Kenny Chesney and many more.

But, if country music isn’t your thing—don’t fret—because after taking a break for a few weeks to make room for the World Series—Glee makes its triumphant return! Rachel goes up against Kurt in a “diva off” for a solo while the group must raise money for a wheel-chair accessible bus so Artie can go to regionals! Oh, and Sue (the amazing Jane Lynch) has to hold auditions for new Cheerios now that she’s kicked Quinn off the squad!

Top Chef: Las Vegas may not have any musical interludes but it was another show that took a breather last week. It’s back tonight with just six cheftestants left and they’re challenged to create a hotel-themed bed and breakfast dish with Nigella Lawson as the guest judge. Will Robin finally go home tonight? Enough is enough!

We’re not ashamed to admit it—we’re full of Glee and damn proud! On what other show would a jealous wife (that would be Terri—fake baby bump and all) get a job as a school nurse (sans any medical experience) to make sure her husband stays faithful. We gotta say she may be unethical and crazy—but she’s right to worry. Will definitely has a thing for Emma!

And after a week away, Top Chef: Las Vegas returns with an all-new episode. We have to admit, this season as been light on the drama so we’re hoping for some big blowouts to erupt this week. A slot machine determines the guidelines for the “Quickfire” challenge so maybe that will stir the pot a little!

But, we’re probably the most excited for an all-new episode of Toddlers and Tiaras where you know drama will go down no matter what! Tonight’s episode takes place at the “America’s Fabulous Faces” competition in Hawaii. The grand prize is only $1000 but you know that’s not going to stop the crazy moms from pushing their little beauties to the end!

It’s down to the final four on Top Chef: Masters and tonight the chefs kick things off with a quick-fire challenge where they’re blindfolded!  This version of Top Chef has been a nice little way to tide us over before the big season—taking place in Las Vegas—starts next week. We like host Kelly Choi but she’s no Padma Lakshmi!

Wednesday TV Hot List

Hump day comes with a big dose of GROSS!

Starting off with back-to-back EWW!, Animal Planet brings us Eaten Alive, which graphically details how gnarly creatures like fly larvae, flatworms, viruses and bacteria can all live within the human body… eating away at it! Then, as if that wasn’t bad enough, they tag team it with the puke inducing new series, Monsters Inside Me… which is guaranteed to make you give up sushi forever BTW! The opening episode describes how a baby, a Vietnam vet, and a suburban father all suffered from deadly parasites that hid in their systems for months and even years! Yep. Just threw up in my mouth a little.

Next we move on to the Lord of the Flies-esque reality show, Survive This!, where a bunch of kids are dropped into the wilderness and must figure out how to… you guessed it… survive! So far the stress of eating hand caught frog’s legs and actually having to be outdoors (as opposed to being on the couch with a video game) is taking its toll. The tensions are mounting, the rations are getting low and a budding romance heats up!

And on Style’s special edition, Clean House: The Messiest House In the Country, Niecy Nash and her team go in search of the messiest house in the US… and unfortunately for them, they find it!

Notable mentions… Vivienne Tam serves as guest judge on The Fashion Show, and Denzel and the Jonas boys hang with Letterman.
