We asked our Online Shoping Expert, Michelle Madhok, (pictured above) about a bizarre trend of fashionistas assuming what looks like a very unnatural position in front of the camera.
We’ve recently been seeing more and more crossing of the legs right before the flash goes off. Why this sudden urge to stick one foot in front and twist the torso. Here’s what she told us:
“It turns out there is a method to the madness: The cross-legged stance makes you appear thinner in photos.
To copy the slimming stance, turn slightly sideways, point your front foot directly at the camera, and shift your weight to your back foot.”
