The one-time mega-selling comic book Youngblood is coming to the big screen, courtesy of director Brett Ratner (Rush Hour, X-Men: The Last Stand).
The characters, created by Rob Liefeld were first published in 1987. The film will have a budget of $150 million.
“Brett’s films have made over $1 billion dollars domestically,” said Youngblood creator Rob Liefeld. Speaking of the director’s new company, “They have a gajillion dollars to finance movies and have sought out partners to make movies with.”
For those of you who may be unfamiliar with the character, Liefeld describes it this way:
“A billion dollar-funded strike force with unlimited resources functioning as super-cops in an ultra-violent world and the media covering their every move told from the point of view of their latest and most reluctant recruit, Shaft. What’s not to love?”
