The May cover of Vogue will feature 10 international beauties touted as the world’s “Next Top Models.” Yale University has already picked its fave.
The Ivy League institution’s Sankofa Group has already bestowed its Fashion Trailblazer award upon top leggy model Chanel Iman (sub. req.). The student fashion collective selected Iman for “displaying pride, grace, and style” throughout her career, which has lasted all of one year so far.
“My hope is that it will inspire her to seek higher learning,” says New York designer Malcolm Harris of Mal Sirrah, an adviser to the Yale group honoring Iman. “I want to make all the models coming in at these young ages to think of education in a different way.”
