Bill O’Reilly often touts his devotion to the No-Spin zone, so it’s not surprising to hear that the wheels in his head have come to a full stop. This week in his syndicated column, Bill-O likens director Brian DePalma to Charles Manson. DePalma’s crime? His new film Redacted, which depicts intoxicated American soldiers raping and murdering a 14-year-old girl in Iraq.
O’Reilly has still yet to see the film, but the comparison is another example of the former Current Affair host’s typical populist bluster. O’Reilly’s arguments are renowned for their ridiculousness, so should we be shocked when he equates a celebrated filmmaker to one of America’s most notorious murderers?
How did Bill compare other sinister persons or groups?
