In a rather odd analysis story after the D.C. gun ban repeal by the Supreme Court yesterday, New York Times legal reporter Adam Liptak finds that there will be “little practical impact in most of the country.” Which put the headline writers in a pickle—they settled on “Coming Next, Court Fights on Guns in Cities.” Instead of, you know, “Coming Next, Little Practical Impact.” Then things get weird! Did you know that New York City will only let you have a gun if you are rich and famous or otherwise not a poor person? It must be true because Liptak lets the NRA say so!
