It’s kind-of-almost-official: After we broke the news on Tuesday that John Reiss, the executive producer of NBC’s Nightly News With Brian Williams, had been canned after losing the ratings race to ABC’s Charles Gibson for two of the last four weeks, unnamed NBC News executives have confirmed his ouster to The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, New York Post, and the AP.
No word yet on who will fill Reiss’ shoes; an official announcement is expected today.
The New York Times‘s Bill Carter and Jacques Steinberg missed one important angle to the story, however: How they found out about it. While the Los Angeles Times, New York Post, and AP all credited Radar with breaking the news earlier this week, the duo somehow forgot to mention us. If this happens a third time, we might start taking it personally! Until then, thanks for reading, guys.
