HAIRDRESSER'S ON FIRE Konig Domino contributing writer Rita Konig has readers of her "Girl About Town" blog in a huff after making flippant remarks about a hair salon that was evicted from its West Village home to make way for a Marc Jacobs outpost. "Some are getting their knickers in a bit of a twist about it because he has so many shops already, and the little hairdressers that was there before.....blah blah blah, yeah yeah yeah. So the bad hairdresser has gone and a troupe of young, charming, and hilarious people have arrived all working in Marc's shop selling things one might want rather than a bad Hilary sic Clinton hairdo," Konig wrote last week. The salon in question, Jason Croy, had been in the location for 28 years, but partner David Browne tells RadarOnline.com that he had to close up shop because he couldn't make rent, which had increased from $15,000 to $35,000 a month. (Croy himself passed away two years ago.) "It's easy to put down someone who is dead, and it's very easy to prop up something that is funded by an international conglomerate that is glossy, chic, and worth billions of dollars," Browne says. "Rita Koning doesn't seem to be writing with much depth. It's certainly not something you'd read in the New Yorker, or a thinking publication."
