  • A shocking years-long Senate inquiry can now reveal, in two new reports that no one will read, that the President of the United States "and his advisers undertook a relentless public campaign in the aftermath of the attacks to use the war against Al Qaeda as a justification for overthrowing Saddam Hussein," in the words of the intelligence committee chairperson. Well, bowl me over! America could not be reached for comment because it was writhing in shock. In the interests of journalistic fairness, which is maybe what's wrong with newspapers, the Washington Post noted that "The conclusions were sharply criticized by several key Republicans, who accused the Democrats of rehashing old material for political advantage."
