Barack Obama serenaded supporters at a New Year's Eve rally in Iowa with the soothing sounds of a xylophonic jazz band; the next morning, Hillary Clinton treated Iowan visitors to a lovely string quartet. Taking a slightly different tack, Mike Huckabee dropped some serious ass-kicking craziness on about 2,000 fired up folks in Des Moines with the help of Chuck Norris, MSNBC's "Morning Joe" Scarborough, and a partially mulleted Iowa band known as the Boogie-Woogers. And yet somehow every poll in the world will tell you that Republicans are the ones who have problems motivating their members.
Pre-billed as the "Huck-n-Chuck" show, the crowd was pretty stoked just to have the Internet icon/high-kicker stroll onstage with his leggy blonde wife and reveal that he accidentally knocked out a marine with a chokehold during his recent visit to Iraq, that he will be hosting a "virtual barbecue" fundraiser for Huckabee later this month, and that his favorite Chuck Norris Fact is "They wanted to put Chuck Norris on Mount Rushmore, but the gravel wasn't tough enough for his beard."
