Vicki Gunvalson's Boyfriend Steve Loses Election Amid Claims He Scammed Voters

Steve Lodge's shenanigans didn't help him win his race for Anaheim City Council! Vicki Gunvalson's boyfriend fell short in the polls on Election Day after he was accused of using scam tactics to fool voters.
His opponent Denise Barnes announced her win over Lodge for Anaheim City Council for District 1 on Facebook. Though the election took place earlier this month, results were just certified.
The Real Housewives of Orange County star showed her support for her boyfriend before the upset.
"Waiting on election results #rhoc #gosteve #proudofhim," she captioned a photo of the couple.
But could the loss have anything to do with his recent scandals?
OC Weekly reported Lodge rented an apartment in Anaheim, California just to meet the requirement that candidates must have a residence in the area in which they run.
According to property records obtained by the publication, Lodge moved from Anaheim Hills after he lost the City Council election in 2012 and relocated.
When Lodge decided to run again, he moved to Azul Apartment Homes in West Anaheim, the paper claimed.
But the publication couldn't catch Lodge at his "home" after multiple attempts.
"He moved in without any furniture," a neighbor told the publication. "We never see this guy — maybe five times at the most since he moved in." His campaign staff did not respond to RadarOnline.com's request for comment.
As RadarOnline.com readers know, Lodge was accused of trying to trick voters back in 2012 when he changed his name to Steve Chavez Lodge on the ballot the first time he ran.
"Lodge has requested that his name appear on the ballot as 'Steve Chavez Lodge,'" the filing read. "This is not his legal name. Nor is that the same under which he is registered to vote or the name under which he owns property. Rather, the use of the middle name 'Chavez' appears to have been adopted recently for political purposes."
The case was disposed in September 2012.
