Marriage 'Flop!' Christina & Tarek El Moussa Separate After Explosive Fight

Tarek and Christina El Moussa have split after seven years of marriage, RadarOnline.com has learned.
"Like many couples, we have had challenges in our marriage," the Flip or Flop couple revealed to PEOPLE. "We had an unfortunate misunderstanding about six months ago and the police were called to our house in an abundance of caution. There was no violence and no charges were filed."
Orange County police responded to a call at their home regarding "a possibly suicidal man with a gun" in May. Tarek allegedly told officers at the time that he was just trying "to blow off some steam."
The couple added that they attended counseling to "sort out" their issues, but were ultimately unsuccessful. RadarOnline.com previously reported that Tarek, 35, was previously unsuccessful in obtaining a permanent restraining order against his ex-girlfriend in 2003.
"During the process, we are committed to our kids and being the best parents we can be," they added. "We will continue to work through this process civilly and cooperatively, and plan to continue our professional life together."

Tarek and Christina, 33, share two children, Taylor, 6, and Brayden, 1. Brayden was conceived during Tarek's battle with thyroid cancer.
