Critics are definitely not hating The Hateful Eight, Quentin Tarantino’s star-studded western that is slaying award season already and gaining major buzz just before the Oscars.
While momentum gains for The Hateful Eight to score the Best Picture win, the film has already picked up its share of wins.
Composer Ennio Morricone won best score for The Hateful Eight from NY Film Critics Circle on Jan. 4 at TAO in New York City. At the Capri Hollywood Film Festival, The Hateful Eight won Best Movie while Samuel L. Jackson won Best Supporting Actor, Jennifer Jason Leigh won for Best Supporting Actress, and Ennio Morricone took home the prize for Best Musical Score.
The film is also nominated for three Golden Globe awards on Sunday, Jan. 10.
Tarantino also secured his place in Hollywood’s elite on Jan. 5 when he got his hand and footprints cemented at the famed TLC Chinese Theatre on the heels of The Hateful Eight’s success.
The entire cast, including Samuel L Jackson, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Walton Goggins, as well as past Tarantino film stars have been toasting the film, too, as box office numbers show the movie has grossed an impressive $30.6M since its premiere.
