Brooks Ayers is finally ready to talk!

In a bombshell interview with E!, the controversial ex-boyfriend to Real Housewives of Orange County star Vicki Gunvalson sat down with Melanie Bromley to answer the question everyone's been asking: Is he willing to prove that he has cancer or not?

Unsurprisingly, Brooks stuck to his story that "yes" he has cancer and – in fact – he's seen some improvement as of late. But when it came to proof of his diagnosis, things got a bit more complicated.

"I went from stage 3 initial diagnosis now down to stage 2," he told with E! News. "I have no more inflammation, lesions in my lymphatic system. Just have some blood work numbers that need to come down and normalize."

While Brooks says that, under the advice of his attorney, he will not take a lie detector test, he does hope the 'Wives of Orange County will choose to support his recovery instead of focusing on the veracity of his medical records.

But it seems even former flame Vicki has questioned Brooks' suspicious story in the last few months.

"Vicki prior to the reunion via email was telling me, 'Listen I'm feeling very weak. I'm going to be on an island by myself. I'll do my best,'" he confessed to Bromley. "Post the reunion, she told me I truly believe everything you have told me and the ladies just backed me into a corner."

But could Brooks still be hiding something?

As RadarOnline.com reported, the reality show regular fled the OC following his breakup with Vicki, and is currently living in Florida — but still warning his former friends to keep their mouths shut about his cancer.
