Woman Convicted Of Killing Best Friend After She Posts Selfie With Murder Weapon
Cheyenne Rose Antoine was convicted of murder after evidence showed the murder weapon she used to kill her best friend. As RadarOnline.com has learned, the Canadian resident strangled her 18-year-old pal, Brittney Gargol, with a belt, after the two had a drunken argument in March 2015.
Gargol’s body was found dumped by the side of the road on March 25 – one day after the two girls went on a boozy bender. Antoine’s belt was found near her dead best friend.
Antoine, 21, tried to cover her tracks by posting a worried message on Gargol’s Facebook page, saying she hadn’t heard from her and hoped she was okay. Eventually, she drunkenly confessed to the murder, and police were alerted.
Three years after the brutal crime, Antoine has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder, later pleading guilty to manslaughter. Police named her as a person of interested in the killing after she posted a selfie – wearing the belt – with her friend, six hours after she was found dead.

In court, Antoine finally admitted that she got into a drunken argument with Gargol on the night of the murder, but doesn’t remember killing her.
"I will never forgive myself," Antoine’s lawyer, Lisa Watson, said in court, according to InTouch. "Nothing I say or do will ever bring her back. I am very, very sorry...It shouldn't have ever happened."
"Cheyenne Rose Antoine knows the family would like an explanation, a reason, but unfortunately she can't provide that,” added the attorney.
Cheyenne Rose Antoine has been sentenced to seven years in prison for killing her best friend in 2015.
