A father and son set to go fishing. This is the heartbreaking final video of Granger Smith’s little boy, River, posted on the country singer’s Instagram.

The video, posted only a few weeks ago on May 17, shows 3-year-old River watching as his father and another man appear to be stocking a local pond with fish, with the promise of going to fish for them later.

“Little fish,” River says, pointing to a bucket full of fish. “Little fish swimming in there.”

But as RadarOnline.com has reported, River died suddenly Wednesday night, June 5 in what the family is only calling a “tragic accident” at their Georgetown, Texas home.

The Williamson County Police Department told RadarOnline.com that their EMS and Fire Unit responded to a medical emergency, but the little boy could not be saved.

“We’ve lost our youngest son, River Kelly Smith,” Granger posted on Facebook. “Following a tragic accident, and despite doctors’ best efforts, he was unable to be revived. Amber and I made the decision to say our last goodbyes and donate his organs so that other children will be given a second chance at life.”

River was the youngest of Granger’s children, who also include daughter London, 7, and son Lincoln, 5.

Granger’s wife, Amber, is an actor and stay-at-home mom. She posted a special tribute online as well.

“Riv was special. Everyone that met him knew that immediately,” she shared on Instagram. “The joy he brought to our lives cannot be expressed and his light will be forever in our hearts.”
