Verne Troyer’s friends, family and fans will be forced to wait for answers related to his untimely death at just 49.
According to the Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner/Coroner records obtained by RadarOnline.com, the cause of death has been deferred “pending additional investigation.”
Austin Powers star Troyer died in a hospital two weeks after he allegedly attempted suicide and overdosed on alcohol.
The Coroner’s Office indicated his body is ready for pick up by loved ones.
The Blast was first to report the delay in cause of death.
As Radar reported, the pint-sized actor infamously known as “Mini Me” passed away on April 21 after a long battle with addiction.
“Verne was also a fighter when it came to his own battles. Over the years he’s struggled and won, struggled and won, struggled and fought some more, but unfortunately this time was too much,” a post to his Instagram stated after his death.
He confessed to checking into rehab countless times over the years for alcohol addiction, most recently in 2017.
