While Teresa Giudice's husband Joe is fighting to stay in America, she's dealing with legal issues of her own. RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal The Real Housewives of New Jersey star has been hit with a steep tax lien.
A clerk from Sacramento County Court in California confirmed to RadarOnline.com that Teresa, 46, was hit with a state tax lien for $73, 273 on August 30, 2017.
As of Tuesday, the clerk confirmed the lien remains unpaid. However, the spokesperson added that the office might not have been notified if a payment was made yet with the Franchise Tax Board. The FTB was unable to confirm if the lien has been released.
The tax lien comes after RadarOnline.com exclusively reported that her husband Joe, 46, who is currently serving a 41-month sentence for fraud, is in the process of being deported to his native Italy.
Joe did not attend his August 15 court hearing in a Pennsylvania Court. His attorney appeared on his behalf via teleconference. He requested the judge halt the removal proceedings.
But Homeland Security fought the felon's request to stop the deportation proceedings, claiming he did not provide "enough evidence" to prove he should remain in the country.
The judge ruled the father-of-four and his counsel could take more time to collect possible evidence. The next hearing has been scheduled for September 5.
The latest lien adds to the Giudice's growing debt.
On April 29, 2016, a lien for $243,425.50 was filed against the Giudices.
Then on June 15, 2016, they were slapped with a federal tax lien for $219,804.38.
The Morris County Clerk of Court confirmed to RadarOnline.com that neither lien has been released.
