The mother of beloved Storm Chaser star Joel Taylor exclusively revealed to RadarOnline.com that she is still in the dark over his tragic and sudden death.

"We don't know anything yet," a sobbing Tracy Taylor, 58, told RadarOnline.com. "All I'll say is we loved him dearly."

It appears Joel's death happened far away from his Elk City, Oklahoma home. His family revealed they were getting ready to leave "on the road" to handle his passing.

According to the Oklahoma Medical Examiner's office — who covers all 77 counties of the state — Joel was never brought in.

"We monitor the entire state of Oklahoma and it either didn't happen in Oklahoma or it hasn't been reported to us," Amy Eliot of the Oklahoma Medical Examiner's Office said. "Legally with his age, it would be reported to us. It should be reported to us."

Joel was famous for his series on the Discovery Channel that began airing in 2007 and ended in 2012.
