Steve Harvey Crowns The Wrong Miss Universe
Yikes! Steve Harvey made a "universally" epic mistake last night, announcing the wrong winner of this year's Miss Universe pageant.
Ariadna Gutierrez, Miss Colombia, had her bubble burst last night, but not before getting in plenty of waving, smiling and — of course — crying on stage while wearing the coveted crown.
Soon after her moment in the spotlight, Harvey cut in, "I have to apologize," announcing that the true winner was actually Miss Philippines, Pia Wurtzbach.
Worst of all, after learning of the victory mix-up, Miss Universe 2014, Paulina Vega, grabbed the crown from stunned Gutierrez's head and placed it on top of Wurtzbach's beautifully constructed locks.
Later, an obviously horrified Harvey took to Twitter to apologize for the mistake.
"I want to apologize emphatically to Miss Philippians and Miss Columbia," the show host shared, misspelling country names in the process. "This was a terribly honest human mistake and I am so regretful."

Meanwhile, true runner-up Gutierrez took the defeat graciously, sharing on Twitter: "Everything happens for a reason, so I'm happy."
