Dying Son of Sam serial killer David Berkowitz believes he’s going to heaven after his 1977 reign of terror shooting spree left seven dead and six injured.
Bombshell letters, exclusively obtained by RadarOnline.com, reveal the 64-year-old maniac-turned-Bible-thumping prison preacher thinks his past deadly sins are all forgiven.
“God has been good to me and I think of all the times I could have left this world early, but for reasons unknown to me, God has spared my life,” the madman wrote.
“Christ, I know for certain, has forgiven all my sins because I asked Him to with a heart of sorrow, repentance and contrition,” continued Berkowitz.
He penned his musings before he suffered a massive heart attack in December.
The murderer, also dubbed the .44-Caliber Killer, is serving life in prison in upstate New York for the shooting spree he claimed was ordered by a neighbor’s dog, which was supposedly possessed by the devil.
Robert Violante, who survived a 1977 attack that left his girlfriend Stacy Moskowitz dead, told RadarOnline.com: “I hope he rots in hell!”
RadarOnline.com has also learned he admitted he once worked counseling other prisoners with suffering from mental illness.
“I live in the prison’s general population but Monday through Friday I am permitted to enter the cell block for the men who have mental and emotional problems,” he wrote in a second letter obtained by RadarOnline.com.
“This is my official afternoon work assignment. Personally I consider it something God has given me to help these men in any way I can.”
