Sean Penn and Robin Wright's son was released from the Hamilton County Jail on Thursday evening following his drug possession arrest, RadarOnline.com can exclusively report.

According to a spokesperson for the jail, Hopper was released on $25,000 bail.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, he was arrested on Wednesday, April 4 along with his actress girlfriend Uma Von Wittkamp for possession of marijuana and for possession of the psychedelic drug psilocybin — also referred to as mushrooms.

Von Wittkamp was also released on Thursday.

The two were stopped by a Nebraska State Patrol officer for failure to signal.

"During the traffic stop, the trooper detected drug activity and searched the vehicle,” Officer Cody Thompson told RadarOnline.com. “Troopers found 14g of marijuana, four amphetamine pills, and 3g of psilocybin mushrooms.”

Hopper, 24, has been open about his struggle with drug addiction.

"I was doing a lot of stuff, but meth was the main one that brought me down," he revealed in an interview with E5. "I went to rehab because I woke up in hospital and my dad said, ‘Rehab? Or bus bench?’ I was like, ‘I’ll take the bed,'”

A family insider previously told RadarOnline.com that his father was furious at his son when he found out about his latest arrest.

"Sean doesn’t even want to talk to him at the moment," the insider claimed. "He is pissed off and feels like he let him down and threw all of the opportunities that he gave him down the toilet.”

The insider added, "Hopper looks up to his father a lot and he was doing really well after his latest stint in rehab, but he recently fell in with the wrong crowd in L.A. and he picked up right where he left off in his addiction."
