Late Dennis Shields Was 'Very Much In Love' With Bethenny: Inside Their Rocky Romance
Dennis Shields was in love with Bethenny Frankel at the time of his sudden death, his longtime friend exclusively revealed to RadarOnline.com.
A friend of the deceased businessman, Gregory Broccoli, revealed to RadarOnline.com secrets of Shields and the New York housewife’s on-again off-again relationship.
“He was very much in love with her,” Broccoli told RadarOnline.com.
Sources told RadarOnline.com that Frankel, 47 allegedly dumped Shields, 51, days before his death. But his friend claimed that didn’t change his feelings for her.
“Yes, they were broken up but they spoke every day, all the time,” Broccoli continued. “She would be upset about something and she would call him up. He consoled her. If she needed something, he always provided a solution.”
Shields appeared on The Real Housewives of New York during the couple’s bumpy relationship. Although it wasn’t his scene, Shields would tell friends he did it for Frankel.
“He would say he was going along with it because that’s what she was a part of. The reason he was on it, number one, was because he was dating her and he was in love with her.”
The friend added that Shields actually “got a kick” out of the reality show.
"Whenever it was brought up, he would laugh and turn red,” said Broccoli. “He would get embarrassed.”
The medical examiner is currently investigating Shields’ shocking death, officials told RadarOnline.com.
On Monday morning, Frankel attended Shields’ funeral in New York.
