Despairing Redmond O’Neal believes his famous father Ryan condemned him to become a junkie — and has “lost all hope” as he faces ten years to life for armed robbery and drug charges, the celebrity son told RadarOnline.com in a world exclusive jailhouse interview.
Speaking to RadarOnline.com in Los Angeles Men’s Central Jail on May 24, addict Redmond, 33, blamed Ryan — who has his own long history of substance abuse and was even accused of doing drugs with his son — for his current predicament after he was arrested for allegedly robbing a 7-11 convenience store at knifepoint and possessing heroin and meth.
“It’s not the drugs that have been a problem, it’s the psychological trauma of my entire life — my whole life experiences have affected me the most,” the heavily tattooed son of Farrah Fawcett insisted.
“Fighting with my father, being kicked out and living on the streets, going to jail, being put in a psychiatric ward, being embarrassed all the time, just because of who my parents are.
“The pressure that came with that set off a time-bomb in my head. I never asked for any of this, I never wanted any attention.”
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Redmond has not been visited in prison by his 77-year-old father, or any other members of his family, although he said he has talked to Ryan via phone.
Redmond told RadarOnline.com that after his 2015 prison stint on probation violation charges, he can’t possibly serve more time.

“This last arrest, something happened to me. I’m not doing good. I can’t go back, no way can I go back,” said Redmond, who now has ‘f**k life’ tattooed in large letters on his left hand and a tattoo on his right cheek reading 5052. “I just can’t do it. I hated prison, it wasn’t good. I don’t do well in there.”
“In my mind I’ve lost all hope.”
After her was released from prison nearly two years early in 2016, Redmond appeared strong and healthy. But now, his face is littered with bruises, and his lips are scabbed over.
Just one day after RadarOnline.com’s disturbing interview, Redmond was transferred for a mental health evaluation.
Ryan was accused of supplying Redmond with drugs by older son Griffin in 2009, just months after Farrah's tragic death.
The iconic actor has not responded to RadarOnline.com’s requests for comment.
