A woman used a vest of explosives to kill herself Wednesday amid a raid on a Paris apartment where authorities were searching for a suspect in last week's terror rampage.
Two people were killed and seven others arrested in a seven-hour stalemate between police and the suspects in Saint-Denis, France. Authorities told the AP that the suspects were armed and aggressive at the outset of the raid; and that four police officers were hurt in the exchange.
"The operation is over," French govt. official Stephane Le Foll said of the fiery exchange.
Witness Amine Guizani said the sounds of explosions and gunshots were "continuous" in "a good hour" of violence in the early morning raid.
"I couldn't say how many shots were fired, but it was probably 500," Guizani said. "Hundreds, definitely. There were maybe 10 explosions."
Authorities said that it had no new updates on the target of the raid — Belgian ISIS terrorist Abdelhamid Abaaoud — who they believed was inside the apartment prior to authorities drawing in. Abaaoud has past boasted that he's able to travel between Syria and Europe while eluding law enforcement.
French President Francois Hollande convened a summit at Elysee Palace to keep tabs on the chain of events.
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, 129 people were killed and another 350 hurt in the unprecedented Nov. 13 attacks in Paris.
