Paris Jackson is lucky to be alive!
The 20-year-old daughter of late King of Pop Michael Jackson revealed that she underwent surgery on Friday to remove an abscess the “size of a golf ball,” and RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned that the infection was allegedly "caused by a dirty tattoo needle."
“Paris had some bad bacteria build up that’s believed to be from a needle that wasn’t properly disinfected. The needle was used for one of her newer tattoos,” a source close to the Jackson clan told RadarOnline.com.
According to a separate insider, the abscess was on her lower back.
Despite the pain, Paris — who performed at a music festival the following day with her band The Soundflowers and new man Gabriel Glenn — refused anesthesia, she proudly told fans.
The insider claimed the whole ordeal caused quite a commotion in the operating room.
“Paris didn’t want to get put to sleep when she had her abscess removed," the insider explained. "She didn’t want to go under because of what happened to her dad."
“She was crying hysterically and shaking from anxiety.”
“The doctors agreed to do it while she was awake with a local anesthetic. She wouldn’t have it any other way,” the insider continued.
On Saturday, prior to taking the stage at the festival in front of family including grandmother Katherine Jackson, Paris filled her fans in on the scary procedure via an Instagram story.
“So long story short, I had surgery yesterday,” Paris said, adding that if her infection had burst, “you can go septic and die.”
Though she's terrified of anesthesia, Paris' family, including grandma Katherine and mom Debbie Rowe, have been concerned about her substance abuse, and insisted she return to rehab, RadarOnline.com previously reported.
