Normani Kordei can’t dance away from her father’s dark past! After exclusively reporting that her dad was arrested for possession of cocaine, Radaronline.com can now reveal more shocking details from the past bust.
In a police report obtained from the St. Petersburg PD, Derrick Hamilton was arrested on December 13, 2006 by undercover cops.
“Undercover units in the area observed a black SUV in the parking lot of Donut Connection,” the report read. “A white female approached the vehicle and opened the passenger’s side front door. She closed the door and walked away and the vehicle left.”
Police then initiated a traffic stop.
“Hamilton appeared to be upset and did not want to speak with either officer,” the report continued. “He did not want them entering his vehicle.”
When Hamilton allowed one of the officers to search his vehicle, an “off-white substance was observed on the carpet of the floor behind the driver’s seat.”
The substance tested positive for cocaine.
The Fifth Harmony star’s father claimed he “did not know where the crack came from.”
“He said he was in the parking lot looking at his cell phone when a white female came to the door of his truck and tried to get in,” the reporting officer wrote. “He told the female to close his door and he drove away. Hamilton stated she did not get in and she did not give him anything.”
Hamilton was placed under arrest and transported to St. Petersburg Police Department.
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, he was held on $5,000 bond at the time of his arrest. He was not prosecuted for the crime.
Despite her father’s troubles, the singer is thriving in the dance competition. Her quickstep with partner Val Chmerkovskiy earned her a 27 out of 40, one of the highest scores of the night.
