Model, 19, Attacked By Nurse Shark During Family Vacation In The Bahamas

A model was bit on the wrist by a nurse shark as she swam in the ocean during a family trip to the Bahamas, RadarOnline.com has learned.
Katarina Elle Zarutskie, 19, posted photos of her wound on Instagram, detailing the incident before getting an overflow of comments and going private.

"I was leaning back for probably no more than 10 seconds, and this shark just grabbed my wrist. I know he mistook me. It was an accident and he probably thought I was food, and I am very lucky that I was able to rip my arm away from him," Katarina said.
Zarutskie got several stitches and was put on antibiotics, but she is recovering well after the random attack.
"It seemed safe" she told ABC in an interview following the incident.
Despite the scare, Zarutskie still loves sharks.
"You really need to respect them" she explained, but warned future shark swimmers to "take into consideration the risks" before jumping in the water with them.
