A Miami-based steroid distributor now serving time in prison claims actors Mark Wahlberg and Josh Duhamel were among his high-profile clients.
Forbes reports Richard Rodriguez made the bombshell allegations during an interview with the filmmaker Jon Bravo.
“Our relationship worked well for a bit but then I decided to cherry-pick who I wanted to work with,” Rodriguez said about Wahlberg, who he claimed needed the steroids when he had roles that called for him to quickly put on massive amounts of muscle. “I was able to be more selective.”
“When you're dealing with celebrities you unfortunately have to be very accommodating — and Wahlberg was a good person but then he started to get more demanding,” continued Rodriguez. “Once I saw his true colors I decided to separate ties from him."
Rodriquez was arrested after the Drug Enforcement Agency conducted a yearlong investigation into his company Wellness Fitness Nutrition and raided it last February.
Now, Rodriguez insisted, “I’m just trying to clear my name and just make people well aware, there is a lot more people out there that were involved and are associated with my company that many individuals did not know.”
Neither Wahlberg, 46, nor Duhamel, 45, have commented on Rodriguez’s claims.
