Mark Salling's Lawyer Claims He Was 'Doing His Best To Atone For Serious Mistakes' Before Suicide
Mark Salling's attorney is speaking out about the star's tragic suicide this morning in Los Angeles.
"I can confirm that Mark Salling passed away early today," the former Glee star's lawyer, Michael J. Proctor, told RadarOnline.com in a statement. "Mark was a gentle and loving person, a person of great creativity, who was doing his best to atone for some serious mistakes and errors of judgment."
"He is survived by his mother and father, and his brother. The Salling family appreciates the support they have been receiving and asks for their privacy to be respected."
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, the 35-year-old star was discovered at the Los Angeles River in Sunland in the early morning.
"We are aware of the incident and yes it was a suicide, but it is being handled by the coroner's office," the L.A.P.D. told RadarOnline.com.
Cops told RadarOnline.com they received a death investigation call at 8:50 this morning on Big Tujunga Canyon Road.
Salling was awaiting sentencing on child porn possession charges, and was expected to serve up to seven years behind bars.
