Margot Didn’t Have To Die! Kidder Stopped Caring For Health, Sources Say

Tormented Superman beauty Margot Kidder could have been saved from an early grave, RadarOnline.com has learned.

After battling booze and drug addictions, money woes and mental illness,  the 69-year-old actress simply quit taking care of her health, a source told RadarOnline.com.

“Margot spent the last days of her life wandering her home in a sick haze. She should have been in a hospital!” a close pal said. “Her life could have been saved.”

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Kidder’s body has been cremated and her remains have returned home to her family — but details about a formal memorial service, much like her life, are still jumbled.

“Margot had given numerous people—friends, family and people the family doesn’t even know – thoughts on what she wanted as her final wishes,” a source told RadarOnline.com. “So that is creating complications.”

Kidder, who the source said considered herself to be an “atheist,” will likely be remembered in a memorial rather than a church service.

The once sparkling brunette’s body was discovered by a friend who stopped by to help clean her house in Livingston, Montana, on Mother’s Day.

A 911 dispatcher told police and EMTs that a caller described finding a “nonresponsive female, no pulse, no breathing.”

Authorities said foul play was not considered a factor, but her death is under investigation. An autopsy was conducted, and toxicology results are pending.

Just days earlier, the three-time divorcee was almost too ill to do a Detroit radio show interview.

The chat was to promote an upcoming autograph session at Motor City Comic Con — her only source of income.

Kidder — who played scrappy reporter Lois Lane opposite Christopher Reeve in four Superman films — told the show’s hosts she was “in bed with flu” and “puking every hour and a half.”

Still, she refused to seek medical help, insiders said.

Tragically, after her high-flying Superman days, Kiddot was overwhelmed by a variety of health issues.

A car accident in 1990 left her temporarily confined to a wheelchair, hooked on painkillers and bankrupt by medical bills. After a public breakdown in 1996, she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. In 2013, she was hospitalized with pneumonia.

Three failed marriages and the loss of her closest friends, co-star Reeve in 2004 and Star Wars princess Carrie Fisher in 2016, left her despondent, friends said.
