"It just wasn't working," a source claimed to Us Weekly. "They're just not a good fit."
Messer, 26, and Jordan, 40, met through his cousin, who is friends with the mother-of-three.
"Even though he's older, they have a lot in common," a source told the publication at the time "They share the same faith and have gone to church together. They love hiking, cooking and are both very family oriented. He's very attentive."
Messer has praised her now-ex-boyfriend on social media throughout their relationship.
"It's @raylansdad416 birthday!!!! Happy birthday, babe," she captioned a photo of her man playing with her daughter Addie.
The split comes after RadarOnline.com exposed Jordan's scandals.
From 2014 to 2015, Jordan posted bizarre YouTube videos under the name Meth Man.
In one of the videos, he begged for drugs.
"Reckon I could be persuaded, given you're providing some meth," he said. "Maybe we could talk a little bit? Maybe meet up? Have a drink? Maybe? I need my meth!"
Jordan's YouTube Channel, which he deleted, was a parody "making fun of West Virginia meth addicts."
In papers obtained from the United Bankruptcy Court Southern District of West Virginia, Jordan filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy back in 2002. At the time, he owed creditors $43, 071.17.
His debts included $10,000 for his 1998 Pontiac Grand Am, $33,071,71 in credit card bills and loans, and more.
Jordan, who was 23 at the time of the filing, was employed as a waiter at Texas Steakhouse for only three weeks. He earned $1,700 in 2000 and $800 in 2001.
The case was discharged on August 6, 2002.
